I was watching Beetlejuice with Japanese subtitles today and there was something very odd about the localization. These three demons were each given names.

Adam’s Demon Form - This one was named キャラメル•パパ (Kyarameru Papa), which translates to Papa Caramel. This is on account of the color and flexibility his skin assumes.

Barbara’s Demon Form - She is called アングリカン (Angurikan), which kind of sounds like Angry Khan. But, also sounds like Anglican, so there’s that.

The Preacher Demon - This guy’s name is definitely a joke. He is called タキシードン (Takushiidon). It kind of translates to Mr. Tuxedo.

A bit of a strange easter egg, but one I was very happy to find.
